The Tools to Practice
Cannabis Medicine Properly

One Platform. Two Practice Models.

Whether you prefer to manage your own patient relationships or work alongside a trusted outlet partner, Cannaverse adapts to the way you practice.

Cannaverse Network Doctor

INDEPENDENT · NO OUTLET AFFILIATION

Run your cannabis practice independently while managing the entire patient journey in one place. Patients register through the Care app and are linked directly to your profile, allowing you to oversee consultations, Section 21 applications, and approvals through a streamlined digital workflow without being tied to a specific outlet.

As part of the network, your profile is visible within the Care app, helping patients who are actively seeking cannabis-focused healthcare practitioners discover your practice. While patient discovery is a valuable benefit, the platform’s primary purpose remains efficient patient and application management.

Onboard and manage your own patients digitally
End-to-end digital Section 21 workflow
Professional profile visible to patients searching for cannabis-focused care
Access product options across the wider Cannaverse network
Practice independently without outlet affiliations

Outlet-Affiliated Doctor

PARTNERED WITH A SPECIFIC OUTLET

Work alongside one or more Cannaverse Core outlets with Patient Management enabled. Outlet staff manage onboarding and application preparation, with completed cases routed directly to your review queue. This allows you to focus on patient care and clinical decision-making while administrative tasks are handled for you.

Recommendations are aligned with the affiliated outlet’s product catalogue, creating a consistent experience for both patients and staff. This model supports long-term collaboration between practitioners and their preferred outlet partners.

Receive patient referrals through partner outlets
Applications arrive with supporting patient information and documentation already captured
Recommendations aligned with the outlet’s product catalogue
Embedded within established outlet workflows
Ideal for practitioners working closely with specific outlets

Bring Your Patients. We Handle the Workflow.

At the core of Cannaverse is a streamlined Section 21 workflow designed to reduce administrative burden. You refer your existing patients to the Care app, where they are linked directly to your profile and their application process begins immediately. Clinical history, conditions, and supporting documentation are captured in a structured format that feeds directly into your review queue.

Every doctor on the network receives a public profile on the Care app, allowing patients actively seeking cannabis-focused care to discover you. While this improves visibility, the platform is primarily designed to support efficient management of Section 21 applications and patient workflows.

Complete practitioner profile
Includes qualifications, HPCSA number, languages, consultation options (in-person or telehealth), and clinical focus areas. Visible to patients once your profile is live.
Onboard your own patients
Share a secure link for patients to register. Once completed, they are automatically linked to your profile and ready for Section 21 initiation.
Flexible consultation management
Continue using your existing booking system if you prefer. The platform integrates with your workflow and does not require changes to how you manage appointments. A built-in scheduler is also available if needed.

From Patient to Approval.
Fully Structured Clinical Workflow.

The workflow remains consistent for all doctors. The only difference is patient source and product catalogue context.

1
Patient consultation is initiated
Patients enter via the Care app or an outlet intake process. A structured Section 21 application is created with available clinical data attached. Consultations occur in your usual workflow.
2
Application arrives — you accept
New cases appear in your queue as “Awaiting Doctor”. Accepting links you to the patient and confirms consultation scheduling via your preferred system.
3
Consultation completed and recorded
Conduct consultations in person or via telehealth. Mark completion in the platform to advance the case to clinical review automatically.
4
Complete the 5-step clinical review
Guided workflow covering diagnosis, ICD-11 lookup, treatment selection, and clinical justification. Structured inputs prepare the SAHPRA submission package.
5
Approval generates documentation
Approval locks the case and generates a complete SAHPRA-ready package including motivation letter and supporting documents.
6
Submit and record outcome
Submit via your SAHPRA portal account. Record outcomes and reference numbers to keep renewals and patient tracking up to date.

Compliant by Design.
Your Practice Protected.

Compliance is built into the workflow, ensuring clinical control without adding administrative burden.

Doctor Sign-off Required

No application proceeds without your explicit digital approval. Clinical control cannot be bypassed by patients or outlet staff.

Full Audit Trail

Every action is logged with timestamps and user identity. Audit history is always available and exportable when needed.

Version History

All application versions are preserved, including edits, renewals, and approvals. Nothing is overwritten or lost.

SAHPRA-Ready Output

Generates structured, SAHPRA-aligned submission packages. You remain the registered applicant and submit via your own credentials.

Practitioner Requirements

Cannaverse is a regulated clinical platform. Practitioners must meet the following requirements to be listed and remain active on the network.

Valid HPCSA registration
All practitioners must be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Registration details are verified during onboarding and reviewed periodically.
SAHPRA portal access
Practitioners must have an active SAHPRA portal account in order to submit Section 21 applications as the responsible applicant. Cannaverse prepares structured submission packages, while final submission remains the practitioner’s responsibility.
Clinical readiness for cannabis medicine
No specialist training is required. General practitioners comfortable assessing patients for cannabis-based treatment are supported through structured clinical tools and protocol guidance.
Agreement to clinical standards
Practitioners agree to maintain full clinical responsibility for all decisions, approvals, and documentation. The platform supports workflow but does not replace medical judgement.
